Privacy Policy

This is a courtesy translation. The German version (Datenschutzerklärung) is legally authoritative.

This site is built to be data-minimal: no tracking cookies and no cross-device profiling. Fonts are served locally; the only third-party element loaded on page view is a cookieless analytics beacon (see below).

Hosting & server logs

The site is hosted by netcup GmbH (Germany). When you open a page, the host processes technically necessary access data (server logs) your browser sends automatically: IP address, date and time, requested URL, referrer, browser type and operating system. This serves the secure, stable operation of the site (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Processing by the host is governed by a data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR); the servers are located in Germany and no transfer to a third country takes place.

Fonts (self-hosted)

The “Inter” typeface is served locally from this server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other font CDN, so no data is transmitted to third parties.

Local storage

To remember your light/dark theme choice, a small value (mp-theme) is stored locally in your browser. It stays on your device, is never sent to us or third parties, and only controls how the page looks for you.

Analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics)

This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics service by Cloudflare, Inc. (101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). It sets no cookies, builds no personal profiles, and performs no cross-site or cross-device tracking. Only aggregate usage data is collected (e.g. pages viewed, referrer, approximate country, browser and device type).

To measure this, a small script is loaded from static.cloudflareinsights.com on page view. Your IP address is transmitted in the process but is used by Cloudflare only transiently to compute the aggregate statistics and is not stored.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in privacy-friendly analytics (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement (Art. 28 GDPR) is in place with Cloudflare; transfers to the USA rely, among other things, on EU Standard Contractual Clauses. More information: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

The site links to external services (VS Code Marketplace, Open VSX, GitHub). When you follow such links, the respective provider’s privacy policy applies; we have no influence over their processing.
